As part of the Friends of the Animal Center Foundation Shelter Art Project,
we will be accepting submissions of poetry and prose for a book to be published in late 2011. 
Sales will benefit Friends of the Animal Center Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that raises funds
to support and expand the animal care services of the Iowa City Animal Care & Adoption Center.

Casual writers, published authors, students of all ages are encouraged to submit. 
A panel will review and select entries to be published in the book, which will be sold in local stores and at FACF fundraising events.


Guidelines
Submissions accepted through May 9, 2011
Writers may submit up to three pieces
Poems may be up to 50 lines in length
Prose pieces may be up to 1000 words
Pieces must be previously unpublished
Only pieces about animals will be considered for acceptance; there are no other restrictions on style or content

Pieces may be emailed to poetry@facf.org as attachments or as text in the body of the email,
or hard copies sent by post to:
